Set against the stunning backdrop of the sun-drenched Coromandel, New Energy is proud to be partnering with Infratec to deliver Lodestone Energy’s fourth solar farm—Pāmu Rā ki Whitianga.
Once operational, the solar farm will produce 32 MW of renewable energy, enough to power more than 6,800 homes annually—a major contribution to Aotearoa’s clean energy future. New Energy is delivering the full mechanical and electrical installation scope for this landmark project.
Installation began with the placement of over 7,000 piles in just 10 weeks, using GPS-enabled piling rigs to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Due to complex ground conditions, more than half of these piles required drilling and concrete reinforcement.
The mechanical installation phase is now complete, with our team achieving installation rates of up to 1,400 solar modules per day at height, supported by the site’s 2P tracker design, which enhances both installation efficiency and energy capture.
Electrical installation is currently in full swing and progressing ahead of schedule, thanks to the experience and dedication of our site teams.
This project continues to build on New Energy’s growing portfolio of large-scale solar installations, as we work together to power a more sustainable New Zealand.
