Located in the sunny Coromandel, New Energy is working with Infratec to deliver Lodestone Energy’s fourth solar farm, Pāmu Rā ki Whitianga.
Once operational, the Whitianga farm will have a capacity of 32 MW, and will be capable of powering the equivalent of 6,800+ homes a year. New Energy will deliver the mechanical and electrical installation on this site.
More than 7000 piles were installed over 10 weeks with precision using our GPS enabled piling rigs. On this site more than half of the piles were required to be drilled and concreted in place due to the ground conditions. New Energy are nearing the end of the mechanical installation on site, with the team achieving an average installation of 1400 modules per day at height due to the 2P design of the solar farm.
Electrical installation is in full swing, and expected to finish ahead of schedule.
