Lodestone – Rangitaiki Solar Farm, Edgecumbe

New Energy worked with Infratec to deliver Lodestone Energy’s 32MW Rangitaiki solar farm near Edgecumbe in the Bay of Plenty.

Groundbreaking occurred in May 2023 with construction starting in June 2023. Energisation was achieved in Feb 2024.

The farm generates enough electricity to supply more than 7,500 typical New Zealand small businesses, farms, homes and apartments every year. New Energy completed the Mechanical and Electrical construction of the Trina 2P single axis tracker system on site. The site utilises approximately 61,000 Trina PV modules and supplies electricity to the 1,700 local residents, the local Fonterra dairy plant and other nearby commercial aqnd industrial users.

This project is New Energy’s second solar farm with Lodestone and Infratec after the Kaitaia project that began construction December 2022.
