Lodestone – Edgecumbe Solar Farm

New Energy worked with Infratec and Lodestone to construct the 32MW Rangitaiki solar farm near Edgecumbe in the Bay of Plenty.

The farm generates enough electricity to supply more than 7,500 typical New Zealand small businesses, farms, homes and apartments every year. The site utilises approximately 61,000 Trina PV modules and supplies electricity to the 1,700 local residents, the local Fonterra dairy plant and other nearby commercial and industrial users. Groundbreaking occurred in May 2023 with construction starting in June 2023. Energisation was achieved in Feb 2024.

This project is New Energy’s second solar farm with Lodestone and Infratec after the Kaitaia project that begun construction December 2022.
